News in Bullets a news aggregator app to consume bite sized news.

The Process

Understanding the product goals.

First phase is Understanding the product goals. At this point. I listed out the few product goals and also needed to know user’s problems which means I would be going through the research phase, so as to know these problems, then try meeting the product goals and users goal at the same time. Killing two birds with one stone.

Here are the product goals:

• Make people be more interested in consuming news.

• News can b re-accessed even after periods of time.

• Convenient product for users, audio can be listened to, instead of reading.

• Ability to detach one’s distastes of news.

Research

After the assumption phase, I started making real fndings just to get few views about the news consumers (users). Since the users are both ADULTS and YOUTHS, I conducted interviews with few people (5 youths & 5 adults). Before the interviews, I went on to peruse through the internet to digest some certainties about news, news consumers, news publications and whatnot. I discovered from my research some authentic depictions that seem to contradict my assumptions, so I took them into consideration.

The Result

News in Bullets was able to suit all the product and users' goals, as some features were devised, originated and reached. UX strategy met! This Android and iOS app makes people be more enthusiastic in consuming news; is a convinient product for users (as audio is being considered); has re-accessibilty feature, share feature, and so on.

I'm delighted I was able to draw up a layout of this project and was able to meet all objectives.Also, new things learnt, I gained more understanding of research and how to analyze them,and became more compentent in following research ethics paths.

The End

Most YOUTHS do not listen to/read news, Why? Probably because they seem too busy, and feel reading newspapers seem outdated. Although, there are other alternatives as social media but these platforms do not really specialize in updating people with news.

At the other hand, ADULTS are more interested in news (unlike youths), but most of these adults do not really get the news they crave., Why? Most (adults) are not on social media platforms that distribute at least little news to users.

Also, most do not read newspapers, probably because some are illiterates and some are too busy to read newspapers.
